Castello del Trebbio: Short Historical DescriptionThe Trebbio Castle was built as a small fortress in 1184 by the Pazzi family and later extended in the 14th and 15th centuries. Its fame is due to the “Pazzi conspiracy”, a plot organized by the Pazzi family in 1478 to kill Giuliano and Lorenzo de’ Medici. The current owners, the Baj-Macario family, bought the castle in 1968 and a program of restoration was undertaken to bring the Castle to its present splendour.
Weddings at the Castle
The Trebbio Castle is currently a private residence owned by the Baj Macario family. In some special occasions, a bride and groom can have their private wedding ceremony (symbolic or real) in the private courtyard, chapel or garden. More and more couples, from all over the world, have decided to have an unforgettable wedding in Tuscany, with just best friends and close relatives. We offer our bridal guests a complete range of services: accommodation (around 40 beds), a new high quality restaurant “La Sosta del Gusto” with a wide range of delicacies and prices, the possibility to have a ceremony, photos and aperitif in the private castle and many other services that we can provide directly or through wedding planners (such as hairdresser, florist, live music, photographer, and DJ for the after dinner). Our location is in the middle of the countryside, among olive trees and vines, but only 15 km from the city of Florence. We have a special gift for the bride, groom and families staying on our property: a free wine tour in our 900 year old castle cellars.
